Welcome to  the only Riding steer school and riding holiday site on the web!

In the late 1990's I started www.ridingsteers.com. It wasn't long before that grew into the International Riding Steer Assn. with members all over the world. Somewhere along the line I wrote a book on training, riding and caring for the riding bovine called " The Complete Book of Riding Steers" . Time has passed and things have changed so much. Now I would like to open my home up to those who would like the unique and one of a kind experience of taking riding lessons on steers, learning to train steers, or just riding down and trail and camping under the stars with their Texas Longhorn mount near by and a Dutch oven over the fire. No place else in the world, that Im aware of offers trail rides, riding lessons, camp outs, riding holidays, and buggy rides all with cattle.

Come for a week, or a weekend. Learn to ride using large Texas Longhorn steers, with allot of trail experience, or come learn to train on mild mannered, but less experienced animals. Trick train with older cattle, or calves. Learn halter breaking tricks, or just enjoy a few days on the trail, camping under the stars at night in a large comfortable tent. Teach one of our animals to pull a buggy with help and support that will allow you to go home and do the same with your animal, or... just hang out with a cooler in the back of the buggy and enjoy the dirt roads and country side that surround One Sky Ranch. Get certified as a steer trainer and open your own school in your part of the country and be part of this growing sport. Attend one of our clinics where skilled specialist come from all parts of the globe to show hands on oxen training, discuss care and training in other cultures etc. What ever you are looking for you will find it here.

Remember the school is only open from May - Oct. for 26 weeks of the year. This means we have limited space. We will only except 26 privet lessons or riding holidays a year.
